Age requirements

Minimum age 16 years by the date of departure of travel, under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult retreat participant.

Language

The main language used will be English.

Payment

Total Cost US$6’300

25% deposit USD$ 1’575 and the full cost of Gorilla Permit US$ 600, total US$ 2’175

Early Bird: receive USD$ 200 discount,
US$ 6’100 therefore balance of US$ 3’925 required.

Full price: balance of US$ 4’125

By paying in part or completely for the costs of the Yoga Retreat and Safari you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of your hosts.  

Refunds/Cancellations

A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of full price, US$ 600 for the Gorilla Trekking permit and additional US$ 180 for optional Chimpanzee Trekking permit.

The deposit is not refundable after trip confirmation if the booking is cancelled by the client. In the case of extenuating circumstances, partial refunds will be considered if possible but not guaranteed. 

No refunds will be given once payments are received. In extenuating circumstances, partial refunds will be considered if booking is cancelled if possible, but will not be guaranteed.

Inclusions

Unless otherwise stated, the tour prices quoted are ex-Kampala/Etebbe and include transport with fuel and driver, 13 nights accommodation (twin share),
3 meals per day, drinking water 1-2 liters per person per day, National Park and activity fees specified in itinerary, airport transfers and all yoga and meditation sessions.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for: airfare to/from Uganda, Kampala/Etebbe, all visa fees, vaccination costs, meals and accomodation before or after the official tour dates/times and meals in and around Kampala/Etebbe, supplemental activities not specified as inclusive in itinerary, refreshments and beverages between meals, alcoholic or soft drinks  (coffee and tea are generally included in meals, but please refer to menus at each lodge), personal items, portage, tips and gratuities, wifi, laundry service, telephone calls, travel and evacuation insurance, any medical costs.

All bookings are subject to availability.

While every effort will be made by your hosts to ensure all bookings and arrangements are completed to the clients satisfaction, your hosts cannot accept liability for any injury, damages or delays.  This extends to hotels/lodges, restaurants, transport carriers, and other service agency or company used with whom bookings have been made.

Alterations to the Tour

The hosts reserve the right to alter routes or arrangements made and cancel operation of the tour should political or environmental situations necessitate.  The hosts reserve the right to accept, decline, or retain any member of the tour at any time.  Should you fail to join the tour at any time, your hosts are not responsible any costs associated with your return to the tour.  No refunds will be offered if you do not attend the tour or leave the tour early.

Transfer of booking is not possible.

Mode of Payment

All payments need to be made in US$ to account in Switzerland.

Transport

Mode of transport will be dependent on the number of clients. 4x4W Vehicles will be in good working condition and be fully registered and licensed
(on display). Drivers/guides will be fully trained and English speaking.

Accommodation

Prices quoted are based on twin share.  Single room may be available with additional payment, but cannot be guaranteed. Single room or double bed requirements need to be requested in advance to avoid disappointment.

Travel Insurance and Personal Injury

You are advised to buy comprehensive travel insurance with evacuation coverage before coming to Uganda. Clients participation in all activities during your visit are at the clients own risk.  Your hosts cannot accept liability for injury, accident or death.

Medical/Health Requirements

All clients must be in good health with evidence of compulsory Yellow Fever vaccination and have no specific medical or dietary requirements.  Your hosts cannot assume any liability for medical needs (care or medications) or dietary requirements/restrictions required during your tour.  The trekking activities will require walking for several hours on rugged terrain and the ability to carry a small pack with water, food and personal items. Trekking to see the Gorillas/Chimpanzees may not be permitted if you are very unwell on the day of the activity but might be possible to be changed to another day, but can’t not guaranteed.

Liability

All bookings are subject to the specific condition that your hosts are acting as an agent in relation to the hotel/lodges, activities, tours, transport etc.  Your hosts cannot accept liability for any injury, damages, lost/stolen personal items or baggage, or delays whatsoever.  Please guard your valuables and maintain vigilance while on Safari as you would elsewhere.  Your hosts reserve the right to use subcontractors to carry out the tour services.

Viewing Animals

When it comes viewing animals there are no guarantees. It is a privilege to see animals in the natural habitat, take a photograph away, leave a footprint.

Gorilla Tracking

A gorilla permits allows you to track gorillas but does not guarantee viewing in plain sight.  Pre-tracking briefings will be delivered by the park rangers, rules and regulations must be strictly adhered to.  Your host bear no responsibility for clients denied inclusion or terminated early from a track by Park Authorities. Anyone with signs of communicable disease will not be allowed to join the track.  There will be no refund for the gorilla permit in any of these cases. Minimum age restriction applies.

Chimpanzee Tracking

A chimpanzee permits allows you to track chimpanzees  but does not guarantee viewing in plain sight.  Pre-tracking briefings will be delivered by the park rangers, rules and regulations must be strictly adhered to.  Your host bear no responsibility for clients denied inclusion or terminated early from a track by Park Authorities. Anyone with signs of communicable disease will not be allowed to join the track.  There will be no refund for the chimpanzee permit in any of these cases. Minimum age restriction applies.

Complaints

Your hosts will do everything they can to ensure a satisfactory experience during the retreat.  If problems arise during the tour please inform them immediately, and they will make every effort to resolve these issues.
